The Whitehouse aims to always put the care of it’s residents first. This is helped by the warm, secure and homely atmosphere of the house and it’s staff that’s been developed over a period of 20 years.

Dignity, respect, understanding and sensitivity are all practised by our highly trained and committed carers who help to create a trusting and personal relationship with all those who come to us or live with us.

An overview of Our Services:

Personal care plans are drawn up by our Manager for each resident when they come to live at our Home with assessments of their needs, desires and aspirations, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Care plans are constantly updated accordingly, involving family, friends and medical practitioners to allow us to offer a comprehensive and effective service.

Residents are offered assistance with dressing, washing, medicine administration and anything else they may need help with, by our carers.

Our rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished. We encourage residents to arrange their rooms to suit personal tastes with their own furniture, decorations and mementos. Naturally, all our rooms are equipped with flat screen (LCD) televisions and telephone points and most come with en-suit facilities. Many rooms also have sea views across the English Channel.

Our residents receive the individual care they request and need when it comes to meals, cultural activities and all-round care provided at our Home by our dedicated professional carers.

We offer respite or short-term care for individuals when their family is away, their carer is unwell, needs a break or when it is not possible to look after them for a short period of time for some other reason.

This means that your relative receives the same loving and professional care as our permanent residents and can feel safe and supported in his or her own personal space.

Facilties available to residents at our home include:

  • 24 Hour care and attention from experienced caring staff
  • In-house activities such as singing, bingo, quizzes and games
  • Lawn games such as bowls and croquet during summer months
  • Varied and nutritious meals prepared daily by our chefs – Special dietary needs catered for
  • Library Service
  • Gardening
  • Multi-denomination religious services
  • On-site laundry service
  • Visiting hairdresser
  • Chiropody, dentist and GP visits on request
  • Outings to threatre, park, pubs and tea rooms
